SECRETS OF A SINGLE DAD

Jays Plan focuses on issues that relate to parenting, lessons from a single dad, issues with teens, as well as Addiction and Recovery. I detail my episodes and learning experiences of being a single dad raising two girls, and I make an effort to find and expose as much humor as possible, because if we take life to serious it will get the best of us, but if we can look at life as lessons learned then we will find happiness in place of despair. Life should be fun, so I'm going to approach it that way and look for the laughter.

Welcome to our family site. My name is Jay Bartels and I'm a single father of two wonderful girls; Faith, who is 13 and Elissa Who is 10. The three of us live together in beautiful sunny Florida, and we love it here. As a single father I have had to learn to become "MISTER MOM", when it comes to nurturing, cooking, and even joining the P.T.A. I have also had to fill the roll as "THE FAMILY GUY", being a provider, protector, and a mentor to my children, and of course a friend to them. Single parenting can help us create a wonderful bond with our children.

I am thrilled that you found our site, and I hope you will tell a friend or family member about us. There are new journals and article being written daily, and this site is only in it's infant stage. So please visit us as we grow towards helping others know they are not alone, and hopefully putting a smile on some ones face, as well as giving them hope and a different perspective on their lives.
